Post bottom end of dimming curve flutters
I have two issues concerning the bottom end of the dimmine curve.

1. I am using Chauvet slim par 5's rgba. with the level set very low ( 5 or less) when fading in the cue or pure blue (255) i get an immediate ghost of white ( all colors I assume) at the beginning of the fade and then it goes to my preset. Is it Chauvet or Byron? Suggestions?

2. On both my Chauvet SLim pars and generic dimmers i do not get smoothe curve in my fade most noticabel at the bottom of the curve either fading in our out. Even if this is a Chauvet issue can I adjust the curve or something to fix?
PS. I am a first time user of Jands or DMX for that matter. Thanks for the help.

If its in the first 10% it may just be the LED par. cheap LED products tend to snap on in the lower percentage range rather than dim smoothly.

For Question 1: It's Byron. V1 did the same thing with LEDs. What it does is default to White for the color so when you put intensity in it will start white before fading to the color. Try putting the color to a snap and then fading the intenisty in and see if that fixes it. Or if you have a cue before that does not have the LEDs on you can preset the color in it and then it will fade on properly. Another option is to go to the fixture editor and make a duplicate of the fixture then make the default for the colors to black.

as for question 2: Some of the newer Chauvet fixtures have built in dimmer curves that you can change through DMX and it may offer a better fade. I have some Colordash Batten Tri fixtures and they do this. So I made a duplicate of the fixture with the curve I liked the best set as the default. Has worked great for me since.

I have tried creating a custom fixture in the past and setting the default to be black, but it never worked, was always white. Not tried it recently tho, so might have another go.
