Post Updating fixture types
Hi,

I updated to the new version today (2.1.9503). When I opened the program it asked me if I wanted to update one of my fixtures. I said yes because I was using the default one. In hindsight I should've said no but that's not the point.

The only options are "Yes to All" and "No to All." Now I want to be careful when I complain about this because typically I'm a huge fan of the "No to All" option especially. Nothing is more annoying that having to hit no, no, no, and no again. However... in this case, I really needed a single yes and no. It updated and consequentially unpatched a lot of my fixtures. It was slightly annoying.

I suppose someone could suggest that I say "No to All" and then update my fixtures manually. That's fine. In that scenario, I would propose the update dialog show a list of fixtures that will be updated when you say "Yes to All."

Thanks, love the new version and new features!

What you should have done was close the application without saving, and then run it again. That'd be just as annoying, but probably less work than repatching all those fixtures...

Other than that, I fully agree with you...

I really wish I'd thought of that. I'm still discovering the effects of that mistake. Apparently some of the fixtures were more different than I initially realized. The fixtures most affected were my media servers. Now all my preprogrammed songs have completely forgotten the custom colors for my videos.

Sam, The other, i wish i didn't save that and could go back to... method is to load a showfile from the autosave folder.

Have a look at your save interval and number of files to keep settings.

I set mine to autosave at short intervals but A showfile doesn't take up much space so i wind up the number of files to keep so I have a quite a few hours jump back.

That's a really good idea Scott. Unfortunately, at this point, I'd lose a weekend's worth of programming... I'll just deal with it as problems arise. I'll check and see what my interval is. Hopefully it'll save me in the future.
