Post HES Technoarc...
Long story short (or semi-short), since Vista 2 is still missing a needed feature (the "multiple events for the same attribute/fixtures" in a single step, necessary for fixed color changes) and, due to the crash that lost our entire Easter show 3 hrs before it started last year, we've avoided "upgrading" to V2 so far (although the plan is to switch once the above feature becomes available).

However, due to limited stock at our rental company, we ended up with a couple of HES Technoarcs for our Christmas services. Unfortunately, it appears that they were released after fixture support for V1 was discontinued. So, does anyone happen to have a V1 fixture profile, ability to create a V1 fixture profile, and/or know of an equivalent V1 fixture profile for them?

Although I probably could pull off a 2nd V2 setup (with a good amount of rewiring) to control them "separately" and/or switch over to V2 (I'd rather not with only 2 weeks left), I figured I might as well check on the "simplest" solution before I started scrambling.

Thanks for any and all help,

William T.

I know I am not answering your question but I wanted to let you know that you can merge cues in V2. This allows you to have multiple events happen for the same attribute in one step. It's not as easy as V1 was, but not to bad. You make two (or more cues) with your events. Select both cues , go to Edit (I think, not at a console) / Cues / Merge.

Hope that helps in the future once you upgrade again. Also, V2 has been extremely stable for a while now.

Well, it wasn't the answer to my question but...I'll finally be able to switch over to V2 :D It's actually under the "Tools" menu but it does do exactly what I needed. Thank you for pointing that out.

I'm still hoping to wait until after Christmas to switch, if possible, so any help/ideas on the V1 question would be appreciated.

Thanks,

WTT

Unfortunately I don't have the fixture profile you need.

I remember back when I was on V1, if I needed a custom fixture, I would simply duplicate an existing fixture that was close to what I needed. It's much easier to make small changes than create from scratch in V1. I'd suggest trying that, it's definitely possible.

Good luck,

And now i'm feeling a bit on the "stupid" side. I completely forgot that there is a "fixture editer" of sorts in V1. Working on modifying the Technospot file (almost identical other than the gobo wheels and the zoom bypass function) and we will see what happens.

Thanks to spendergrass for pointing me in the right direction and jroman for letting me know about the merge steps function in V2.
