Thank you Jands for the latest 9503 release with the added Audio insertion support. This is a feature I love to use for large dance shows with complex cueing in V1. However, the redesigned timeline in V2 hinders me from using the timeline like a "video editor" of lighting events like V1 did. By this I mean being able to set markers with a keyboard shortcut, convert them to cues, move cues around without affecting the placement of others (holding the ALT modifier while dragging, I believe), clicking right above the timeline to snap the playhead to certain positions, and splitting the cue at the playhead.
For example, I'd sometimes have 45 light cues in a matter of 30 seconds, all to the beat of a song. In V2 this does not seem as practical. If this is something V2 is straying away from in the design of the timeline, please let me know. I am fine with using V1 for my very application-specific scenario. But if there is anyway to introduce some of the above features into upcoming releases of Bryon, it would be much appreciated. ALSO - the OPTIONAL ability to Play and Pause the timeline (while in timeline mode only) with the spacebar would be an amazing feature that lacked in even V1. Thanks, Brandon Clark Lighting Designer |

All good points Brandon, You will be pleased to know that that "audio playback on a per cue basis" is essentially an "alpha" "lets get a basic version of the feature in there" implementation of audio.
The initial beta when Audio appeared was released just before Jands took Christmas holidays. The nonpub Beta versions already have the ability to assign audio at the cuelist level, and half an hour after Jands released that beta Giancarlo had posted a list of improvements he wanted to that. For the moment my best advise on work arounds are:
assign Audio track to Cue 1 move cue 2 to 0 seconds add a hundred more cues learn timing is then your friend |

I've re-posted from the beta forum a summary of discussion on requested improvements.
I don't think we mentioned mark cue so feel free to add it there. http://www.jandsvista.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2606 |
