Post Light flash effect independent of cue list
I'm a very basic Vista user operating just seven lights for a small children's theater. I have my cues set up for each scene but I would like to have a flash effect that I can activate with a button push at any point in the cue list. For example, we're doing Aladdin, I would like to be able to have a flash effect for the genie to appear at a button push during the palace scene. My actors don't hit cues in any reasonable way so I need to be able to activate it somewhat randomly without affecting my cue order. Is this possible? Thanks for any help!

This is how we set up flashes:

Create a new cuelist selecting only the lights you want to flash
Bring intenstity and color to your desired flash look
Set that cue duration to 0
Create a follow cue
Insert Command "Release" find this cuelist
Make sure command is at the start of the 2nd cue
Go into cuelist properties and change release time to the fade back to normal that you like. We use 0.6 seconds.

No cues should be blocked.

Hope that helps!

Thanks very much! I'll give that a try.

I created an entire R2L stage lightening storm using the Follow command between cues and as little as .1sec on-off cues for the LEDs. I even had the house lights involved in it. Worked great. Took a lot of programming to time it to the storm sound. Using follow allows all kinds of possibilities. Don't forget to make the first cue a Hold.
