Post CW fixture support in 1.3
Hi all,
I'm running 1.3 on our CL (we have a couple CW fixtures we need to control, so decided to venture on the beta). I like the CL, but the way they implemented CW support isn't really congruent with the operation of the rest of the board.
Currently, the fader controls the cool LEDs INDEPENDENTLY of the knob controlling the warm LEDs.
This should operate a little different to maintain the same feel as the rest of the board:
-The fader should control the MASTER INTENSITY (be it the master intensity channel, or the level of both the warm and cool LEDs relative to the color temp setting)
-The knob should control the BALANCE between warm and cool (so as you turn it from left to right, the fixture will fade from full warm to full cool)
-A setting in the Preferences pane should control the mid-point on the balance knob is both LEDs at 50% - 100% (similar to how the board now mixes amber and white for fixtures with those LEDs: you can choose the overlap of the two channels to maximize brightness or evenness)
I think this would result in a better experience mixing CW fixtures, especially alongside other RGB and generic fixtures.

Thanks!

Hi Evan
Provided the fixture supports it there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to have the fader control overall intensity and the dial control the colour temperature or use one dial for CW and the other for WW. You should also be able to set the default value for a colour temperature channel in the fixture file.

Let us know what fixture and mode you are using and we'll take a look at what's going on.

BTW we released v1.3.13356 some time ago and it has a more up to date library than the 1.3 beta.
