Post Accidental RDM?
Hello,

I had put together a lighting system using a Jands Stage CL and quite a few different fixtures from Mega Systems. All of the fixtures are LED, and many of then are color mixing. I have a very strange problem....many of the fixtures occasionally reset themselves to start address 511. On their own. This is not just one model of their fixtures, but so far three different models. The company can't recreate the problem. There is apparently only one other guy in the country that has had this issue, and he's a fairly big lighting designer. I have a message in to him to see if he's figured it out....but here is my question:

Is it possible that perhaps the operating system for the Stage CL is converted to some degree from one of the larger Jands consoles? I don't believe the Stage CL has an user accessible control over Remote Device Management, but perhaps the coding might be part of the OS.....and perhaps it is being triggered somehow in a way that is messing up the fixtures....just a theory.....and wondering if anyone else has any useful information. I'm really grasping at straws here....

Thanks,

Kirt

no Jands console products currently support RDM, so it's most likely an issue on the fixture end of things

My guess would be some kind of battery in the fixture (or potentially a capacitor) that allows the fixture to hold it's address is going bad causing memory loss.
